Hammanskraal, Tshwane has recently experienced an outbreak in Cholera. This was due to poor
maintenance and the failure of the Rooiwal to meet the desirable final effluent quality for discharge to
the Apies River, which, in turn, flows into the Leeukraal Dam. 23 people have lost their lives in the
deadly outbreak.
